The JavaScript gamepad API may have some inconsistencies between controllers, browsers and operating systems. Ensure that your gamepad is connected either via bluetooth or cable. If the gamepad does not show up automatically, try pressing a few buttons. On some devices, only certain buttons will trigger the gamepad API (the shapes on PS3 controllers for example).
